you whispered through my sadness touched my tears with your scarred fingers soft petals fall in space rain drops gently on wounds a lesson in solitude and grace in the ether we embrace like passing ships fleshless under your wing I see inside your broken heart I sing as you take a final breath

about

The main elements for the album were composed, arranged and performed by John Donovan Malley between March and December of 2020. The material was a direct extension of the previous ep ECHOES IN A CAGE. It is an attempt to overcome the feelings of isolation that so permeated 2020 by engaging in genre-spanning collaborative projects.

John Donovan Malley performs all piano, synths, drones, percussion and sampling.

Guest Performers:

Leila Abdul-Rauf: Vocals
Wes Harrison: Distorted Guitars
Dawn Howard: Clean Guitar
Eva Vonne: Viola

All songs mixed by John Donovan Malley, with the exception of
“Song for Harold” mixed by Tad Doyle at Witch Ape Studio.
Mastering of all tracks completed by Tad Doyle at Witch Ape Studio.

"Song for Harold" is dedicated to the life and work of Harold Budd.

John would like to extend sincere thanks to: Leila, Wes, Dawn, Eva and Mr. Doyle! Special thanks go to Jessica, Lucas, Lillian and Isaac Malley. Thanks for Sanity! Thanks for Strength!
